BRANCH — Branch scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead and then tacked on two insurance runs in the eighth to top Two Rivers, 7-4, in a Shoreland League baseball game on Sunday.

The Polar Bears took a 4-3 lead in the fourth inning on Brian Schmidt's RBI-single and held the lead until the seventh when the Blaze took advantage of two walks and two errors to plate the tying and go-ahead runs.
Josh Lemke, who paced the Blaze by going 4-for-5, smacked a two-out, two run single in the eighth to seal the win.
Two Rivers had two singles and a walk in the ninth, but had one runner picked off and Branch turned a double play to end the game.
Luke Kiel drove in all three runs in the first inning as Branch grabbed a 3-1 lead. Two Rivers scored two runs in the second on a Branch error and a bases-loaded walk to Chris Bickel.
Derek Klein picked up the win for Branch (3-7 overall, 1-3 in the Shoreland League), despite walking eight in the game. He also struck out eight and surrendered just six hits in eight innings. A.J. Lorrigan pitched the ninth for the save.
Schmidt, who was 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, took the loss for Two Rivers (1-7 overall, 1-5 in the Shoreland League), striking out seven and walking four.
